GEG deployed a two-person training team to Johannesburg, South Africa to support World Health Organization Training on Emergency Response
Background:
As a part of its global reform efforts, World Health Organization seeks to strengthen its ability to respond to emergencies in rapidly changing environments with professionalism and agility.
Requirement:
The design, development and delivery of a workshop on World Health Organization Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in Emergencies for Operations Officers, held in Johannesburg, South Africa in October 2017. The training included an additional requirement of production of a Facilitators Guide for future standard workshops.
GEG Contribution:
GEG, in close consultation and collaboration with the World Health Organization Health Emergencies Program (WHE), developed a workshop based on the Emergency Response Framework and senior management directives. Upon completion, GEG sent a two-person team to Johannesburg, South Africa to support and co-facilitate the training of World Health Organization officers in SOPs for health emergency response. Following the workshop, GEG designed a Facilitators Guide for future use by both internal World Health Organization and external consultant facilitators, in close collaboration with the WHE Management and Administration Department.
